As a class project in my Stereo Mixing Class, I was given the raw recordings of Sickick’s “Mothman.” I was tasked with remixing this song in a way that differs from the original. I chose to focus on the revolving techno feel by creating panning automation to enhance the song’s drops and builds. I also wanted to create heavy gates on the electronic instruments to create a separation between the vocals and the instruments.
